Asian Football Cup 2023 - Opening Ceremony
The AFC Asian Cup 2023 kicked off with an impressive opening ceremony at Lusail Stadium in Qatar on January 12, 2024. The ceremony featured a vibrant and culturally rich program, including a musical performance titled "The Lost Chapter of Kelileh & Demneh," an Asian fable brought to life by artists from Qatar and the region. This artistic presentation aimed to highlight Asia's literary and cultural heritage, aligning with the tournament's values of inclusion and respect.
The AFC2023 opening ceremony live broadcast was undoubtedly one of the most intricate and demanding productions I've ever participated in. The stage was set right on the football pitch itself, adding a layer of complexity that required precise coordination and planning.
Imagine the challenge: a grand, elaborate stage that had to be meticulously assembled and then swiftly dismantled just before the match began. It was a true testament to the teamwork and expertise of everyone involved, from the technical crew to the performers.
Every detail was crucial, from ensuring seamless transitions between acts to managing the logistics of moving equipment on and off the pitch with precision timing. The pressure was immense, but so was the satisfaction of seeing it all come together flawlessly.
In addition to the elaborate stage setup, we utilized 29 cameras, half dedicated football cameras, while the other half were specially brought in for the opening ceremony. This arsenal included three Steadicams, a Spidercam, a helicopter, and even a drone, allowing us to capture every angle and moment with cinematic precision.
The show was delivered using the LiveEdit automated system, which facilitated real-time editing and broadcasting of the event. Countless rehearsals were conducted to ensure everything ran smoothly, but our incredible team's dedication and collaboration truly made the event shine.
In the end, the AFC2023 opening ceremony showcased the spirit of the event and highlighted the capabilities and dedication of those behind the scenes, making it a truly unforgettable experience for all involved.

EXPO 2020 Opening Ceremony
Like every other event in 2020 also the EXPO 2020 was postponed for a year due to the worldwide pandemic. When the Opening Ceremony finally take place in 2021 hard rules to fight the pandemic were implemented by the production team. I did fill the position of being Backup Broadcast Director following the rehearsals and live broadcast from the isolated production gallery with the purpose to take over the broadcast directing of the Opening Ceremony in case of the Main Broadcast Director becoming infected with COVID. Few weeks of rehearsals did conclude with the beautiful ceremony to celebrate both the opening of EXPO, but also the beaking the backbone of the global pandemic. World started to open up again.
